CRACKING THE STYLING CODE

Interior styling is all about displaying what you already have, it doesn’t cost anything apart from your time.

Want some ideas how to display your loved possessions? Would you like your home to look a bit like the ones you are swooning over in the interior magazines or Instagram? Read on, I will share few tips that you might find helpful.

Interior styling can make a big difference to your home without spending any money

First, declutter and you can focus on the remaining items to good effect. Think if you want to display the items individually or arranged in groups?

Interior styling can be done in any room of the house. In the kitchen is all about mixing the beautiful with the practical.

Tip #1 If displaying a single item, allow plenty of empty space around it! This will give the object more emphasis and focus the attention.

Tip #2 Consider the background – it can be contrasting for more of an impact or same colour for more calming feeling. Think about the texture as well as the colour of the objects and backgrounds.

Tip#3 Use lighting to draw attention to your display.

Tip#4 When grouping items decide whether you want to achieve eclectic vignette or more structured, ordered display.

Tip#5 Have something linking the group of objects. It could be colour, texture, use etc.

Tip#6 Consider the Design Principles: Focal Point, Repetition and Rhythm.

Tip#7 When grouping items for display make sure that the relationship of the parts is close enough otherwise it might look like a collection of random elements.

#Tip8 Don’t be afraid to mix different styles and eras.

If you don’t have the time or don’t know where to start with your interior styling I’ll be happy to help.
