Skela Studio is an Edinburgh-based interior design studio working across Scotland. We design thoughtful, practical interiors for both homes and small businesses, creating spaces that feel considered, functional and personal.

The interior design process
Understanding your brief
Listening carefully to your requirements is central to every project. The success of the design relies on a clear understanding of your brief, including how you use the space, your preferences, timescales and budget.
Developing the design concept
This stage explores your brief in more depth, developing design ideas and solutions that respond to your space and needs. Through discussion and shared ideas, the direction of the design is refined before moving into detailed development.
Mood boards and visual direction
Mood boards are a key part of the design process, helping to define the overall look and feel of a space. They bring together colours, finishes, materials and imagery to give a clear visual direction before moving into detailed design and specification.
From concept to completed scheme
Once the visual direction is agreed upon, the design is developed in more detail. This includes space planning, lighting, furniture, finishes and fittings, always balancing aesthetics with practicality and budget. We work closely with you throughout the process to ensure the final scheme feels cohesive, considered and personal.

Detailed Design
If required, we prepare scale drawings, technical details and visuals to support bespoke furniture, joinery and finishes. These drawings help ensure craftspeople and contractors can accurately interpret and deliver the design.
At this stage, clients can choose to take the project forward themselves or continue working with us for procurement and project management support.
Project Management
At Skela Studio, we offer full-service project management for interior design projects, overseeing each stage from concept through to installation. We coordinate suppliers, trades and timelines to ensure the process runs smoothly and efficiently.
Our role is to manage the detail, communication and sequencing of works, allowing clients to feel confident that the design is being delivered as intended, with care and attention throughout.

Product purchasing: We can manage multiple orders on your behalf, saving time and simplifying the process. This can be combined with our consolidated delivery service, where items are delivered together in one coordinated shipment.
Consolidated deliveries: Rather than managing multiple deliveries, we coordinate delivery to a preferred time and location, helping projects run more smoothly and efficiently.
Getting trades quotes: We can source, coordinate and liaise with trusted trades, supporting the quotation process where required.
