At the beginning of every interior design project and after the brief, I prepare two concept boards for the client. This is to ensure I’m on the right track and provide the client with options.
Sometimes it’s hard for clients to decide which concept they prefer. That’s exactly what happened in this case.
I made those two concept boards for a client in Glasgow. The cafe needed a substantial update of the interior.
The brief was to make it more modern and attract younger customers but also keep the regulars.
He liked both concepts and couldn’t decide which one he prefers. On the end, we decided to do two separate areas to accommodate both types of customers. Both areas had to seamlessly merge into each other and represent the brand. The two concepts became one.
There is a lot to consider when designing a cafe. It’s thinking from the customers perspective.
We dedicate time in understanding our clients as well as their customers, helping them maximise the space.
